Randy was a nationally ranked junior player while growing up in Minnesota, earned the National Master title in 1989. He has sat on the board of US Chess on four prior occasions. Randy played 30 students at once, with one student earning a special prize for excellent play - though no one was able to earn a W this time. Thank you Randy!

Mathnasium Chess Clubhouse Opens!

Chess Clubhouse premiered our US Chess Rated tournaments with the help of Mathnasium, Friars Road in San Diego. 32 students and 2 adults played 3 rounds - almost all of which earning their first US Chess Rated Game!
